Taylor Black
Taylor is a Richmond-based dancer, teacher, choreographer, dance filmmaker, and bodywork practitioner. She received her BFA in dance and choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University, and currently works as a dance teacher for Richmond Public Schools, as well as Marianne Kelley's School of Dance, and she works as a freelance performer and choreographer.
She has a strong focus in choreography and dance film, and has created several works in both live performance and screen dance. Her work has premiered at the Richmond Dance Festival, the Small Plates Dance Festival, and the Mid-Atlantic South Regional Conference of the American College Dance Association adjudication and gala concerts.
Taylor has also explored and continues to practice dance critique, business of dance, and sound design. She is a certified Level I and Level II EBAS (Elemental Body Alignment System) instructor, as well as a certified Thai Bodywork practitioner.
